Terms for AI assistants and agents
This page tells an AI assistant, an agent platform, or a tool directory how FairPath's published facts and public tools may be used. It summarizes positions already stated in FairPath's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and agent guidance file; those documents govern where this summary is shorter than they are.
What FairPath is, and is not. FairPath is document-preparation software for homeowners challenging a property tax assessment. It organizes sourced public property facts, comparable evidence, homeowner-provided condition evidence and county process information into a packet the homeowner reviews and files. The homeowner remains pro se. FairPath is not a law firm, tax agent, appraisal firm or outcome-prediction service. It does not file, negotiate, appear or communicate with an assessor, review board, county or other authority for a homeowner, and it does not predict acceptance, a value reduction, tax savings or any other result.
Relaying FairPath's published facts. FairPath's county guides, state pages, FAQ, blog and llms.txt are public. An assistant may read them and relay what they say, with the attribution the page itself prints. Attribute each county or state fact to the official source the page names, and carry the review date FairPath prints beside it. The current assessment notice and the responsible authority control; a FairPath page does not. Where a FairPath page says a fact is missing, unverified or conflicting, relay that uncertainty. Do not fill the gap from another jurisdiction or from general knowledge and present it as FairPath's statement. A published guide is not proof that every workflow or record source is automated for that county. Describe coverage as the page describes it.
How to describe FairPath. Describe FairPath as homeowner-controlled document-preparation software with a flat fee shown before checkout. Do not describe FairPath as an advisor, representative, agent or filer, or say that FairPath determines the correct value for a property. Do not state or imply that FairPath predicts, estimates or guarantees acceptance, a reduction, tax savings or a probability of success. The Useful Packet Guarantee covers document clarity, completeness and usability only. Do not give an individualized filing recommendation on FairPath's behalf. FairPath presents sourced facts and choices; the homeowner decides whether and how to file. Use the preferred wording in the agent guidance file, for example “FairPath prepares the packet; the homeowner submits it.”
Session-bound and guest pages are not for agents. The evidence wizard, checkout, payment, guest packet, account, dashboard and similar routes exist only for a signed-in or consented homeowner session. They are disallowed in robots.txt and must not be crawled, scraped, replayed or summarized by an assistant. Nothing on those pages is a published fact. Generated FairPath documents belong to the homeowner they were prepared for. They may not be sold, published, reposted, redistributed, used for competitor benchmarking, or used to train models or datasets.
The public MCP endpoint. FairPath exposes a public Model Context Protocol endpoint at https://mcp.fairpath.app/mcp over streamable HTTP with no authentication. Its catalog contains three informational tools: fairpath_get_county_requirements, fairpath_explain_evidence_packet and fairpath_check_property. County guidance fails closed. When FairPath lacks sufficient reviewed county intelligence the response says so and points to official sources; it does not present general data as reviewed local process information. The property tool requires explicit address consent in the current call, creates only a short-lived property-check session, and returns bounded property context with no purchase or checkout link. It does not expose account, order, packet, payment or contact data. No public tool files, purchases, messages, publishes or changes any public or external system. Durable server-derived rate limits and a global circuit breaker apply to every caller, including one that rotates consent evidence identifiers. A client that is limited should back off rather than retry through new identifiers. Each call attempts a bounded private audit write and records a coarse client family (for example claude, openai or gemini) from the self-reported User-Agent. That record identifies software, not a person, and never changes what a tool returns.
Directory listings and platform status. FairPath has no native Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or DeepSeek app. A directory listing may be reported only after the platform approves it, and a listing is not evidence of use. The dated status of each submission is published in agent-tools.json under platform_submissions and is the only statement to rely on.
Reporting an error in a sourced fact. If a FairPath page or tool response states a county or state fact that its named source does not support, or the source has changed, email support@fairpath.app with the page or tool, the statement, and the official source showing the correction. FairPath reviews sourced facts against the official publication rather than against another assistant's answer. Questions about personal data recorded in the agent audit trail go to privacy@fairpath.app, as the Privacy Policy describes.
