2026 Property Tax Ballot Measures: A Homeowner’s Reading Guide
Source check: August 31, 2026. Policies, proposals, and deadlines may change after this date. Property tax measures on the 2026 ballot do not all change the same part of a tax bill. Some address exemptions, others valuation rules or taxing authority.
A useful reading starts with what the proposal would change, who would qualify, and when it would take effect. Ballotpedia’s August 27 roundup counts 13 property-tax-related statewide measures across 2026.
One was defeated in Louisiana in May; the remaining 12 were listed for November 3 across Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wyoming. That is not 13 measures still awaiting a November vote.
